Lincoln Financial Group Sponsors American Paralympian Set to Climb Mount Everest

Lincoln Financial Group today announced its sponsorship of Jeff Glasbrenner, a Paralympic athlete whose goal is to successfully climb the North Side of Mount Everest this year.

Glasbrenner’s background is one of overcoming obstacles: At just eight years old, he lost his right leg in an accident on his family farm. He was told he would never run, swim or participate in sports again.

In college, he discovered wheelchair basketball, which spurred his drive to excel in the athletic world. Glasbrenner went on to become a three-time Paralympian and two-time World Champion in wheelchair basketball and finish 25 long-distance triathlons. In 2010, he was the first athlete, amputee or not, to complete eight long-distance triathlons in eight months. Glasbrenner plans to begin his Mount Everest climb in May 2016.
