BEIJING

Members of Analysis Group’s Health Care Consulting Services practice will exhibit a poster, moderate a podium session, and instruct a short course at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) 6th Asia-Pacific Conference in Beijing, China, from September 6–9, 2014.
A team from Analysis Group, led by Managing Principal Eric Qiong Wu, Ph.D., and Vice President Jipan Xie, M.D., Ph.D., will present the poster “Treatments and Monitoring of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) among Hospitalized Patients in China,” which is based on a study undertaken in collaboration with researchers at Peking Union Medical College and Peking University Shenzhen Hospital.
“This is the first study to examine treatment and monitoring of VTE care in China using large and rich electronic medical record (EMR) data,” notes Dr. Wu. “Compared to other data sources in China, EMR data from major medical institutions provide superior accuracy, consistency, and richer clinical and economic information. Its completeness is not limited by insurance coverage of medical services and products, making it a preferred source of scientific data for health care research in China.”
In addition, Dr. Xie will moderate the “Cardiovascular Disease Outcomes Research Studies” podium session and co-instruct the “Introduction to Modeling” short course. Analysis Group’s academic affiliate Professor Gordon Liu, Director of the China Center for Health Economics Research at Peking University, will serve as conference chair.
“We are looking forward to opportunities to share our research using new sources of medical big data and cutting-edge research methods, and to reinforce our position as a leading research group in the field,” said Dr. Wu, who heads up Analysis Group’s Beijing office.
Analysis Group is proud to sponsor the conference and will be a featured exhibitor. Please look for us at Booth #16.
