SYDNEY

ansarada, the technology company whose goal is to revolutionize the world of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), is pledging 1 percent of its equity, time and product to the Adara Group, a unique organisation working to improve the lives of women and children in the developing world.

The Adara Group was started in 1998 by Audette Exel. It is made up of a private placement and corporate advisory “business for purpose” named Adara Advisors. Adara Advisors was set up for the sole purpose of funding an international development organisation, Adara Development. Adara Development provides health and education services for people in poverty.

“Adara is trying to revolutionize the charity model utilising M&A as a platform and that revolutionary vision fits perfectly with what drives ansarada too” says Sam Riley, ansarada’s chief executive. “Adara Advisors is an innovative way to fund the non-profit Adara Development, and ansarada feels a strong calling to use our products, technology and skills for the purpose of helping Adara grow exponentially and improve the lives of millions more people”

ansarada’s pledge of 1 percent of its equity, time and product follows similar commitments by yelp.com, rallydev.com and foundrygroup.com that have also taken the “pledge 1%” designed to leverage a company’s future success to support non-profits.

Adara has been working in Nepal since 1998 to improve healthcare, education and to stop the trafficking of children, especially from the remote Humla region. In Uganda, Adara partners with a hospital that supports 500,000 people, particularly women, babies and people living with HIV/AIDS.

“When Adara met Sam Riley I wasn’t even halfway through describing what we do when he said to me ‘whatever you want forever it’s free,’” says Ms Exel. “I said to him, you’re our kind of guy. There is a mountain of need in the world and we are so grateful that ansarada is standing with us to reach more people.”

Founded in 2005, Sydney-based ansarada runs, at any one time, between 60 percent and 90 percent of the M&A data rooms in Australia and New Zealand. ansarada has offices in Chicago and London.
